Hunting Season
Jan 5
Jason T. Unruh, RRC employee and deer hunter extraodinaire, finished the season with his first buck. The furry critter never saw the Deer Slayer’s cross bow coming. The event occured early in “Just forget it” January, which followed “Don’t Shave” December and “No Shave” November. Way to go Unruh!
Deer season proves to be somewhat of an obstacle for Red Rock Consulting each year, as employees and drillers alike are avid bow and rifle hunters. Thank goodness “Finally” February is just around the corner and we can see those fresh faces and less carnage soon!
Red Rock Consulting recieved word today that the company has been recognized by the Oklahoma State Department of Health as a Certified Healthy Oklahoma Business!
The Program began in 2003 recognizing those businesses (both profit and non-profit) that are working to improve Oklahoma’s health status by providing health and wellness opportunities for their employees. Certification requirements vary by size of workplace, but in general, they include providing employee health screenings, workplace health education, opportunities for physical exercise activities, management support for healthy workplace environments, and sharing wellness activities within their respective communities.
Red Rock Consulting (RRC) and Drilling Services of Oklahoma (DSO) celebrated our 3rd Christmas party together on December 15th. Festivities began at Ted’s (after a limo ride from Norman), where we met other friends from Interworks, Cobb Engineering (lab) and Terracon (lab). The RRC and DSO crew continued with a limo tour of lights through Chickasha and Purcell. Well, there was a limo ride anyway. The night ended in Norman at the Embassy Suites. Good times were had by all.
Thanks for a great 2012, Everyone!!
Giving Back
Nov 19
Red Rock Consulting employees volunteered their time last Friday at the Edmond Hope Center. We organized diapers, stocked food shelves and helped give out food donations. It was such a great experience, that Red Rock Consulting also decided to sponsor a needy family for Christmas, also a program of the Hope Center.
The purpose of HOPE Center is to meet the basic needs of members of the Edmond community by providing food, clothing, household items and financial assistance for rent and utilities. For more information, please visit the Hope Center website at www.hopecenterofedmond.com. To volunteer, contact Cheryl Woods at volunteerathope@gmail.com.
3rd Anniversary
Aug 1
Red Rock Consulting celebrated 3 years in business in July, 2012. Many clients, friends and family stopped by to enjoy the festivities.
My most sincere thanks and gratitude go to my employees and DSO for all the help over the past 3 years. We would not be here today without everyone’s hard work. I couldn’t do it without you!
And thank you to all of our clients, especially the ones who had faith in our little company since the very beginning. I am so greatful for you all!
New Drilling Technique
Jun 29
Todd Simpson, DSO, takes a break from the 100+ degree heat while drilling a pipeline project for Red Rock Consulting. The summer of 2012 was the hottest on record with temperatures exceeding 115 degrees. Precautions – such as frequent breaks – must be taken to fend off heat stroke and other heat-related ailments while drillers and engineers are on site.

Sometimes it Takes Two

Red Rock Consulting worked with both of DSO’s drill crews to complete this project at OSU-OKC. The project was on a fast track and we aim to please – especially for OSU!
